Psychotherapy Supervision for Clinicians

Who It's For

I offer psychotherapy supervision to clinicians practicing therapy (counselors, therapists, social workers, psychologists, psychiatrists) who are looking for more grounding in psychoanalysis or psychodynamic therapy. I have many years of experience in teaching and supervising, and I am able to make difficult concepts clear and relevant to everyday therapy experience. I am able to explain psychoanalytic concepts clearly, guide clinicians in formulating their patients using these concepts, and assist clinicians in integrating psychoanalytic technique into their therapeutic practice.

Frequency

I am happy to work either as a short-term consultant (two or three sessions, spaced one week apart) or as an ongoing supervisor (sessions every one to two weeks).

What to Expect

I will listen closely to your patient presentation. I will want to know what questions you have for me, and I will try to guide you more deeply into your patient’s emotional experience with questions of my own. When needed, I will teach psychoanalytic concepts and theory, and I will help you formulate your patient using these concepts. Ongoing supervision will focus on integration of psychoanalytic technique into your work.

Because I am licensed as a psychiatrist, supervision with me will not count toward supervisory requirements for counselors, social workers, or psychologists in training.

I am unable to bill insurance for supervision.
